A slow guide to Copenhagen

Your Copenhagen Workcation Guide
For dreamy deep work + slow wandering

Copenhagen will always hold a special place in my heart. I was born in Denmark and spent my university years there. It feels like a second home - a place where I return to slow down, find inspiration, and sink into deep, creative work.

Little me in Denmark 1998

Whether you're planning a work getaway or just craving a change of scenery to spark something new, this is your guide to Copenhagen: a city where soulful cafés, nourishing food, and calming green spaces make working feel a little more like living.

Cafés for Creative Flow
Laptops welcome, inspiring vibes

Kompa 9 – A cozy, tucked-away gem in the city center. Wooden tables, soft music, and great coffee. My go-to when I need to get things done without pressure.

Coffee Collective, Frederiksberg – Light-filled and calm, with just the right amount of buzz. Perfect for long laptop sessions.

Grød – Yes, the porridge place! The food is grounding and nourishing, and the casual setup makes it a surprisingly ideal place to work, especially in the morning.

Andersen & Maillard – A beautiful mix of industrial and cozy, with some of the best pastries in town and excellent coffee. Their café space in Nørrebro is ideal for settling in with your laptop for a few focused hours.

For Slow Mornings & Chill Time
Ease into the city's soft pulse with warm pastries and quiet mornings

Lille Bakery – Hidden in Refshaleøen, this spot feels like a countryside bakery dropped into the city. A must-visit for a slow, inspiring morning.

La Cabra – A Scandinavian coffee dream - minimal, aesthetic, and always delicious.

Hart Bageri – If you know, you know. Go early, bring a book.

KAF – A hidden gem with a serene vibe and a menu that balances indulgence and nourishment (all pland based!). Great coffee, quiet energy, and just the right ambiance for writing, planning, or dreaming.

For Dinner Dates & Friend Catch-ups
Where food feels like an experience

Tokyo Restaurant – A cozy Japanese spot that always hits the mark

Beit Salma – A newer love of mine. Beautiful Lebanese food, warm atmosphere, and perfect for an unhurried evening.

District Tonkin – Flavorful, vibrant Vietnamese food in a setting that feels both lively and laid-back. Great for a casual dinner with friends.

Baka d'Busk – A creative, plant-forward restaurant with a playful menu and a relaxed, artistic vibe. Perfect for something a little different.

Breathe & Wander
Because deep work needs soft pauses

Kongens Have – One of the oldest and loveliest parks in the city. Great for a grounding walk after screen time.

Frederiksberg Have – A dream of a park with hidden paths, lakes, and open lawns. Take your time.

Islands Brygge – By the water, calm and open. Especially magical in early morning light.

If you ever find yourself in Copenhagen - working, dreaming, or simply needing to reset - I hope this guide helps you land softly. Bring your laptop, your favourite sweater, and an open heart.

With love,
