Books/bækur
Books can be so wonderful to use in order to learn and grow! Here are some of my favourite books at the moment that have helped me on my journey to become a more sustainable and conscious human being.
// Bækur geta verið svo ótrúlega dásamlegar til þess að hjálpa manni að víkka sjóndeildarhringinn og skoða ‘innra sjálfið’ í öðru ljósi! Hér eru nokkrar af mínum uppáhalds bókum í augnablikinu sem hafa hjálpað mér á minni vegferð að sjálfbærari og meðvitaðari lifnaðarhætti.
Untamed - Glennon Doyle
“This memoir is so packed with incredible insight about what it means to be a woman today, what it means to be ‘good,’ and what women will do in order to be loved. I swear I highlighted something in EVERY chapter.”—Reese Witherspoon
The Uninhabitable Earth - David Wallace-Wells
“Riveting. . . . Some readers will find Mr. Wallace-Wells’s outline of possible futures alarmist. He is indeed alarmed. You should be, too.”—The Economist
A New Earth - Eckhart Tolle
“[Oprah] Winfrey calls the book ‘a wake-up call for the entire planet, one reader at a time. It helps us to distance ourselves from our egos . . . and to open ourselves to a higher self. . . . It helps us to stop creating our own suffering and obsessing over the past and what the future might be, and to put ourselves in the now.'”
—USA Today
Breath - James Nestor
“A fascinating scientific, cultural, spiritual and evolutionary history of the way humans breathe—and how we’ve all been doing it wrong for a long, long time.” —Elizabeth Gilbert, author of Big Magic and Eat Pray Love
How To Do The Work - Dr. Nicole LePera
"How to Do the Work is an invitation to do the work with the inner tools we all carry within ourselves. The invitation is yours if you choose to accept it. Wherever you are on your path, Dr. LePera meets you with open arms; your current level of self-mastery is the only pre-requisite. This is a guide for your journey of becoming. The world needs your gifts, now more than ever." -- Karlyn Percil-Mercieca, CEO of KDPM Consulting Group Inc, Certified Emotional Strategist and Neuro-Life Coach
Fashionopolis - Dana Thomas
“If you’ve been paying any sort of attention, you know that fashion is a dirty business. Human rights abuses, environmental devastation, economic devastation—these are just the broad strokes of a deeply broken system. And Fashionopolis seeks to pull the curtain back on that system. But it also wants to show us a way out.” —Esquire
Essentialism - Greg McKeown
“Entrepreneurs succeed when they say ‘yes’ to the right project, at the right time, in the right way. To accomplish this, they have to be good at saying ‘no’ to all their other ideas. Essentialism offers concise and eloquent advice on how to determine what you care about most, and how to apply your energies in ways that ultimately bring you the greatest rewards.”—Reid Hoffman, co-founder/chairman of LinkedIn and co-author of the #1 New York Times bestseller The Start-up of You
